Narry joins UAE side Sharjah

Ghana midfielder Moussa Narry has joined UAE top-flight club Sharjah just days after leaving French club Le Mans, MTNFootball.com can reveal.

The 26-year-old signed a two-year contract with the club on Saturday to become the second famous Ghanaian to play in the Gulf country’s league.

Narry signed the contract in the presence of the club’s CEO Ibrahim Zaki before flying out to France to say his final goodbye to supporters of Le Mans after two years at the club.

The deal with Sharjah is a massive financial boost for the midfielder who is expected to earn at least $1m annually and reunite him with coach Faouzi Benzarti.

Narry, who has worked with the Sharjah coach Faouzi Benzarti when they were at the Tunisian club Etoile du Sahel, will join the team in Tunisia where they are having their pre-season training.

The midfielder is Sharjah's first new foreign signing of the season.

The 26-year-old met the Sharjah players at their final training session before the team's departure yesterday for a pre-season training camp in Tunisia.

Sharjah are preparing for September's four-team Pro League play-offs, which give them a chance of returning to the top division after finishing at the bottom of the points table last season.

The club have released 15 players from last season, but have retained the services of the Brazilians Marcelinho and Edinho.

Narry is the second Ghanaian to play for the club after Nafiu Iddrissu.

He will join Asamoah Gyan as the famous Ghanaian players in the UAE top-flight this season.
