Nestle congratulates Stars

Accra, Oct 11, - NESTLE Ghana Limited, producers of Milo food drinks have congratulated the Black Stars for their spectacular 4-0 victory over Cape Verde in Praia that sealed their historic qualification to the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.

In a message signed by Mr Tettey Aryee, the Brands Manager (Milo) copied to the GNA Sports, he lauded the effort of the playing body, technical handlers and the Ghana Football Association for ensuring the realisation of the national dream at long last.

It said Nestle joins to celebrate the historic achievement of the Stars because the company had always believed that it was sowing very viable seeds through the sponsorship of the annual Milo Colts Soccer Championship and the Schools and Colleges Soccer Festival, which has over the years unearthed many talents many of whom have developed into Black Stars' materials to help fulfil a national dream. "By this important achievement, the management and staff of Nestle extend our warmest congratulation to the playing body led by skipper Stephen Appiah, the technical team headed by coach Ratomir Dujkovic and the inspiring direction provided by the Ministry of Education and Sports and the Ghana Football Association."

"As the single largest corporate sponsor of sports in Ghana, Nestle is further motivated and encouraged by the result of its long-term investment in grassroots football and we pledge our continued support to the development and promotion of Ghana sports and football in particular," the message added. The message said Nestle further urges the Stars and the country's football authorities not to relent in their build-up to the World Cup but to ensure that the team prepares adequately to take Germany by storm and prove to the world that Ghana is a global soccer force.
