That New Edubiase United are targeting success in the Glo Ghana Premier League come end of 2011/12 has been well said by the President of the club so much they want victory in the novelty Glo G8 tournament as inspiration. “The past two years, the league was won by teams we came into the league with so I think it is time for us to also win it. “In the first year we were 11th, then last season 8th so its okay to aim for the title this time,” said. Alex Ackumey, Vice CEO of Edubiase at last Saturday’s Glo G8 launch in Accra. Mr. Ackumey further told ALL SPORTS:
“We have taken this G8 competition serious because it involves tough clubs and we see it as preparatory ground for the league by winning it.
“We will do our best to play good football for our fans and viewers on TV. We beat both Hearts and Kotoko on live TV last season and the clubs we are playing too we have beaten them before, so no problem.” The mission to win become the new Ghana champions by this same time next year has been set but unlike other title targeting clubs, New Edubiase would not break the bank to make any big signings.
“We have lost two top players but we will replace them with youngsters coming up and we will be ready. We take young players below 20 years and develop them,” Mr. Ackumey stated.
