Foxborough, MA - The New England Revolution signed Ghana international defender Emmanuel Osei on Tuesday.
Osei, 26, will join the Revolution from Liberty Professionals in Ghana's top professional league. He has previously played with ASV Cham (Germany) and AS Livorno (Italy), as well as FC Timisoara (Romania). He began his career with Ghana's Hearts of Oak in 2002.
Osei was a member of Ghana's 2004 Olympic Team, and has also played for Ghana's senior national team.
"We are pleased to add Emmanuel to the team," Revolution Vice President Michael Burns said. "He is an experienced central defender who can also play in the midfield, and who'll give us added defensive options."
Osei will join the Revolution pending the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate. Once added to the roster, Osei will occupy an international roster slot.
Per MLS and club policy, terms of the deal were not released.
