New York Red Bulls Sign Ibrahim Salou

Red Bull New York has announced the signing of Ghanaian forward Ibrahim Salou today. The 30 year old forward had been on trial with the New Jersey based club, playing 65 minutes during the friendly against Santos FC on March 20th.

Salou joins New York after most recently playing for Danish First Division side Vejle Boldklub, making 18 appearances and scoring 3 goals. Before Vejle, Salou played for several Belgian clubs, including S.V. Zuite-Waregam, Club Brugge, KV Kortrijk, and spent a season at German second division club MSV Duisburg.

“Ibrahim is an athletic and physical forward who will immediately improve our team,” said Red Bull New York General Manager and Sporting Director Erik Soler. “He was impressive during his time training with the team and we are excited to bring him on board.”

Salou will be added to the club’s roster following approval of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate.
