Nigeria better than Ghana - Osim

Enyimba star Bob Osim has told reporters that Nigerian clubs and national teams are better than the Ghanaian counterparts at the moment and that is why Enyimba beat Hearts in the Super Cup.

"They used to be better than us in the past, but for now we are better both at club and national team level," Osim told reporters soon after Enyimba defeated the Ghanaian club.

"Remember we beat them at home in a friendly match with home based Super Eagles players. I played that game and we also beat them in the LG Cup, and I played that game too. So I know what I am talking about."

Osim added that the results left him with optimism that Enyimba would still triumph even when no goals were scored in regulation time.

"I always knew we were going to win," he told reporters.

Nigerian champions Dolphin play Hearts next month over two legs looking for a place in the group phase of the Champions League and Osim advised the Port Harcourt side to play the game with confidence.

"They should play with confidence," Osim advised. "They should not play with that former belief of Ghanaian teams being strong. Hearts are good and deserve respect, but if Dolphin FC plays with confidence and discipline, they will beat them."
