Nii Adjei gets Black Stars call up

Head coach of the Black Stars Kwesi Appiah has named a 21-man team to camp for the second leg of the final 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with Malawi in Lilongwe on October 13.

Five players will be making a return to the Black Stars fold after being sidelined due to competition for places in the previous Ghana squads.

Vice-captain and Hapoel Tel Aviv right wing back John Paintsil who last played for Ghana in a friendly against Chile in March this year makes a return to the squad.

Also returning are David Addy (Vitoria Guimaraes), goalkeeper Philemon Mc Carthy (Hearts of Oak) and French side Evian Tholon Gallard duo Jonathan Mensah and Rabiu Mohammed.

The 21-man list also sees the most Valuable Player of the 2011/12 Glo Premier League Daniel Nii Adjei earning a debut call up together with impressive former Black Starlets player Mubarak Wakaso who plays for Spanish side Espanyol.

The Black Stars were initially scheduled to camp and prepare for the Malawi game in South Africa but the camping base could be shifted to Kenyan capital Nairobi, footy-Ghana.com understands.

The stars who hold a 2-goal advantage after beating Malawi in Accra last month are expected to report to camp by October 7 ahead of the game the following Saturday.
