Player transfer activities are set to officially kick off with the opening of the summer window at 12am on July 1.

But the much talked-about Ghana defender Baba Rahman has yet to receive ‘concrete’ offers from the top European clubs said to be chasing for his signature, his German club, Augsburg, has claimed.

Recent media reports have claimed among interests from top European clubs, English champions Chelsea have made consultations with Ghana national team gaffer Avram Grant over the impressive left-back as they prepare to tempt Augsburg with a £11million offer.

“There is nothing concrete on our table with regard to Abdul Rahman Baba,” Augsburg General Manager, Stefan Reuter has said.

“We are very happy to have him at our club. We are delighted he is playing for our club.

“We have been happy to hear him saying he feels great being with us.”

At the beginning of June, club president Klaus Hoffman claimed Augsburg are in a healthy situation and are not in haste to sell Baba. He warned the club will not be tempted to sell for 20 million euros [about £15m] or below.

“We are a perfectly healthy club. Baba is one of the top talents in the world. Anyone who wants to offer us a number like €20 million, they can save the cost of the call,” Hoffman told SportBild.

Baba only signed a five-year deal with the next season’s Europa League campaigners from Greuther Furth for a fee of €2.5 million last summer.
