One of the legal brains behind Ghana football, Lawyer Ntow Fianko, has urged clubs in the Ghana Premier League to kick against any motion by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to increase the number of participants in the Ghana Premier League

There have been strong reports on the media landscape that the FA and PLB are thinking of increasing the number of teams in the league from 16 to 20 due to the unresolved cases between Tema Youth and Dreams FC as well the pending court case of Medeama.

However the legal luminary believes the proposal is a bogus one that must not be entertained. Highlighting some laws to support his argument, Ntow Fianko opined that “20-team league is a bogus idea. It is an idea that must be discarded. It should not be encouraged at. I will urge all clubs to vote against it when it is proposed at the congress”.

The Ghana league is scheduled to resume in December but with the unresolved cases being an albatross around it, the coming days will be interesting to see how the judicial bodies of the GFA deal with them
