The Ghana Football Association president, Kwesi Nyantakyi has denied knowledge of bonus negotiations between the Black Stars and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye.

Players who get national team call ups receive a whopping USD10,000 as winning bonus for matches played.

The absence of trophies since the players began receiving the said amount has got Ghanaians worried with many calling for a reduction and this call seems to have received the needed attention with Youth and Sports Minister, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye agreeing to slash the amount. Kwesi Nyantakyi who was speaking on a sports show on national television, GTV admitted he is oblivious of any meeting between the players and the minister discussing bonus reduction.

He said, “I’ve not met the minister in this matter (bonus) but I read in the media that the minister had negotiated a reduction of the bonus with the Black Stars players.”
