Oblogo (GAR), Sept. 27, GNA - Akim Oda Ofie Youngsters Club, a newly promoted Division One club put up an impressive performance to draw 2-2 with Oblogo Sportnet Club in their match played at Oblogo on Sunday.
The Oblogo lads made an early incursion into the visitors' goal area and took the lead through Emmanuel Kofi in the fifth minute but Allen Okunor of Ofie Youngsters quickly cancelled the goal. In the 30th minute, Ofie Youngster's striker, Mohammed Osman controlled a loose ball and raced into the goal area of the home team before delivering a powerful shot to bring the first half score to 2-1 in their favour.
The Oblogo lads resumed the second session with more determination and put pressure on the visitors that earned them the equaliser through Charles Amoah to bring the final scores to 2-2.
Mr. James Asare, the Coach of Ofie Youngsters in an interview with the GNA Sports appealed to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to encourage the media to cover the Division One League matches. He said on many occasions, "We don't hear results of matches played to enable the coach to assess his team," and urged the GFA to pay special attention to division one matches to unearth talents for the nation.
