Eastern regional based Okwawu United are all set for the forthcoming 2012/13 Division One League season which is scheduled to kick off on 12th January, 2013 nationwide.
In an interview with GHANA GOALS ONLINE, Enoch Agyare Addo who doubles as the administrative secretary and Public Relations Officer (P.R.O) of the club said ‘the club was undergoing some structural changes in order to propel the club to its desire heights in association football.’
Agyare Addo said: “Okwawu United has a new board presently and with their tremendous support, we have been able to bring some fresh signings to the side.”
“There have been a lot of discussions at managerial level to get a competent team of technical handlers to steer the affairs of the team and I must admit; the players are excited with these new changes. Don’t forget that, all these measures are been made to make Okwawu United the team that it used to be years ago.”
“The club on the other hand will outdoor its new signings to its numerous fans and sympathizers and when that’s done, the team will play a friendly match against King Solomon at the Nkwakaw stadium to test our readiness for the upcoming season.”
“The dream is to return Okwawu United to the Premier League and with what we are doing, it will come as no surprise to see Okwawu United play against teams like Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak in the GLO League after a long wait.”
Forty-eight teams have been grouped into six separate zones to compete in the league nationwide league that will produce three premiership candidates.
