Director of Accra Great Olympics, Fred Pappoe, has revealed that the club spent about Ghc 1 million en-route to their qualification into the Ghana Premier League.

The former Black Stars vice-president said directors of the club had to dole out money promptly to ensure that they qualify in a very difficult zone which had several ex-Premier League clubs.

Speaking on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports, Mr. Pappoe intimated that it was a very difficult campaign but they scaled through, albeit.

“It was a very difficult campaign for Olympics but at the end we managed to scale through. On top of my head, I can say we spent about One Million cedis to qualify. You know how difficult it is to run a Division One club because for us we don’r even take gate fees. In fact it’s not been easy especially if you look at the clubs in our zone which include Okwahu United, Heart of Lions, Tema Youth, Amidaus, Sporting Mirren and Mighty Jets who are all ex-Premier League campaigners.” Mr. pappoe told Happy FM.

Fred Pappoe, who is currently the chairman of the Match Review Committee of the Ghana Football Association, further indicated that Olympics will make a huge impact when they join the Ghana Premier League this term.
