Ghana defender Daniel Opare excelled in his lateral defensive role for Augsburg as they nicked a narrow 1-0 victory over VfL Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.
The 25-year-old defender held down his place in Markus Weinzierl's starting line-up and lasted the entire duration of the game at the WWK Arena as they booked the important win.
Opare, signed from FC Porto in the summer, debuted for Augsburg last weekend, helping them defeat Werder Bremen.
And, impressed by manager Weinzierl, he was retained in the squad he anchored the defence, ensuring they managed a crucial win.
