Opeele: No keeper can stop Yahaya Mohammed’s shot

National U-17 football team assistant manager, Isaac ‘Opeele’ Boateng is singing the praises of Kwesi Appiah after the Ghana coach named leading marksman in the domestic league, Yahaya Mohammed among four strikers in the provisional 26-man for preparations towards next month’s Cup of African Nations in South Africa.

Opeele, like many Ghanaians has revealed his itching desire to see Ghana conquer Africa but has become even more confident after what he says is an exhibition of authority by Appiah who is undergoing a big test in the name of indigenous coaches.

“I don’t think you can point to any of the players he (Kwesi Appiah) has selected who doesn’t deserve to be there,” Opeele has said. Speaking on Asempa FM, Opeele said Appiah’s choices and explanations depicts a confident man who knows what his work is all about and is backing him to go for glory.

“The list that he has come out with gives me so much confidence that he can go and do something special. Yahaya Mohammed for instance is a good addition which shows Kwesi will give you the chance if you prove it,” Opeele opined.

He continued: “Yahaya is scoring goals for fun playing behind the strikers at Amidaus and he has scored more goals than the whole Kotoko team.

“Last time I was telling Osei Palmer if we knew Yahaya Mohammed could be a striker, why didn’t we use him like that at Tema Youth. To me it’s (Amidaus) Coach Lokko that deserves all the praises.

“Yahaya that is walking, whenever you put a freekick around the opponents’ penalty box, then it’s goal that you’ve got there. The kind of shot he plays, no keeper can stop it.”
