Kotoko failed to score in their MTN FA cup match against second division club A. K. Shion but eventually won the match on penalties.
Berimah, speaking to Asempa FM on the Ultimate Sports show, he said, “Opoku Nti and his current management have killed the spirit of Kotoko because teams don’t fear Kotoko anymore”.
“I don’t hate him but the truth is he and his management cannot make Kotoko but they are only forcing themselves to do it and nobody should blame Coach Duncan for how the club is performing but rather we should blame the current management of the club”.
He also revealed that, before the appointment of Coach Duncan, the various circles made an appeal to the management not to appoint Coach Duncan because he does not have the spirit of the club in him but the management failed to adhere to the appeal. He said, “When we heard that the management wants to bring in Duncan, we the various National circles appealed to the management not to appoint him as then head coach of the club because the spirit of the club is not in him and he will not help the club as well”.
He continued, “Now the club is run by some media personnel and propaganda because some officials of the club has threatened the circles not to talk because if you talk and criticize the management you will not be allowed to go and watch Kotoko matches but am telling the various circles not to keep quite but rather tell the management what is right”. He told Asempa FM.
The chairman of the Asante Youth Association also humbly appealed to Opoku Nti to resign peacefully from the club. He said, “There is no doubt that Opoku Nti was a great player for this club, but as the leader of the management board he has totally failed and am therefore calling on him to resign peacefully from the club because it a big embarrassing to a club like Kotoko”.
“The management of the club plainly doesn’t have any plans for the club anymore and they should remember that they can’t rebuild Kotoko because it a result oriented team like Real Madrid, Barcelona and then other big clubs in Europe and am calling on Otumfour to hear my appeal because some of us are tired with this Opoku Nti and his management team”.
Kotoko lie on the 11th position on the league table with 5 points after five matches and now visit Aduana at the Dormaa Park in the week six of the Ghana Premier League.
