Former Kotoko star Rev. Osei Kofi has threatened to give up on his allegiance to the Kumasi club if they are not able to build their own stadium within the next four years, ALL SPORTS can reveal. Osei Kofi, remembered for his football wizardry during his days with Kotoko, says if the club can’t have their own stadium to show when they clock 80 years, then that will be the end of his status as supporter of the club he so loves. “It’s sad that Kotoko of all teams, if we don’t have just a stadium then we have suffered to waste. A team that used to conquer all in Africa and even beyond, we don’t like the current condition of Kotoko. “In four years to come, if Kotoko don’t build their own stadium at 80 years, then I will stop supporting the club,” Rev. Osei Kofi told Happy FM on Wednesday, the occasion of the 76th birthday of the nation’s greatest ever club.
The staunch supporter that he is, Mr. Osei Kofi is acaling on the rank and file of the club to rally behind the new technical team and playing body as the countdown to the commencement of the next Glo Ghana Premier League season on October 9.
“Management should seek the support of the fans so we can all pray that the coaches can be able to build a good team from the players we have now. We sold a team to buy players so the coaches have a lot of work to do to get a team together.
“So they need the support of all of us so that even if we don’t do that well in the coming season, we will be ready to win back the league the following season,” Osei Kofi appealed.
