Former Ghana and former Hearts of Oak midfielder Laryea Kingson has promised to take charge of the club's player of the month award after being impressed with the team’s development under Kenichi Yatsuhasi.

Laryea, who was at the Accra Sports Stadium to witness the Phobians put up a stellar display to beat visiting Bechem United 3-1 on the day could not hide his delight after the final whistle.

The Phobians, who have struggled to impress in the last six years are looking good and won their third game of the season in grand style last Sunday.

The game which brought Black Stars Coach Avram Grant, former Ghana skipper Stephen Appiah and Laryea Kingson himself to the Accra Sports Stadium for the first this season produced four goals with Samuel Yeboah, Mustapha Essuman and Isaac Mensah scoring for the Phobians though John Nyamekye got a late consolation for Bechem.

Purring with excitement Laryea Kingson promised to take charge of the player of the month award onwards.

“This is the league we all want to see and this is Accra Hearts of Oak we all want to see,” Laryea told Accra based Citi-FM

“Stephen and I decided to come and see the game today and trust me we are not disappointed at all.”

“We hope it continues and in my small way I will take charge of the player of the month award and given the winner a token from now.”

“We all have to contribute and help the team and I will talk to management so we take that up after every month I will give some cash reward to the player that has been outstanding.”

The Phobians have been strong in the first four games of the season picking ten points out of a possible twelve.
