West Ham United are closing on the capture of Ghana international John Painstil.
The 25-year-old has been training with The Hammers with a view to earning a ?750,000 switch to Upton Park.
Painstil has been granted permission by his Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv to join West Ham on a pre-season tour of Sweden.
The right back looks to have impressed Hammers boss Alan Pardew after his agent Lee Anderson confirmed a deal was in the pipeline.
"The deal with West Ham is nearly finalised and the player is completely comfortable with an ambitious club that is playing in Europe this season," said Anderson.
"He has been very impressed with Alan Pardew."
Painstil was recommended to the West Ham manager by current Upton Park ace, and Israel international, Yossi Benayoun.
Pardew has been looking to bolster his full back options and Painstil, who impressed with his powerful displays at the World Cup, could soon secure his Premiership opportunity.
