Goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy has commenced training with Great Olympics, sportscrusader.com can exclusively reveal. The former Heats of Oak keeper who is now a free agent following the expiration of his contract with the Phobians last season, is in talks with Olympics, an action that is being pushed into fulfillment by its new coach David Duncan who has been confirmed head coach of the Premier league returnees.
When sportscrusader.com visited the team’s training grounds in Teshie on Thursday, the keeper was actively involved in training and being supervised by its new head coach David Duncan.
The player further revealed that though he is training with the Accra based Club, he is yet to pen a deal to bind him to them in terms of contract , but was sure all that will be sorted out soon.
“Yes I think it was best for me to start training again since the league will start soon. Definitely, I will sign for someone and I think it’s only fair that I train with Great Olympics whilst the negotiations continues”, Philemon McCarthy told sportscrusader.com.
For McCarthy he wants his future resolved before the end of the week so as to know where he will be plying his trade in the 2014/2015 football season.
