Ghana legend Mohammed Polo has slammed the policy structure of the Ghana Football Association after the country’s U-20 side became the latest side to be bundled out of an international competitions in the year.

The Black Satellite were kicked out of the ongoing 2011 Africa Youth championship in South Africa after one defeat and two draws.

The defeat has compounded Ghana’s misery on the international stage this year.

Both the male and female Olympic teams bundled out of the 2012 London Olympic Games while the local Black Stars exited the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament while the country’s U17 side failed to qualify for Africa.

The ex-Ghana international dribbling wizard has questioned the structure of the Ghana federation accusing authorities of doing little to change the downward spiral.

“The current situation is not only worrying but very sad and I think there is something wrong with our football structure at the FA and the earlier we talked about it and do something about it the better,’ Polo said.

“There is no proper planning and that’s the result of what we see today. There must be concerted effort at addressing finding the problem and finding solutions to them now or it will hurt us for years to come. The FA must sit up because things are getting out of hand.”

The rampant defeats suffered this year have clouded the achievement chalked by the current FA over the past five years with the Black Stars and the other junior national sides.

The federation elects it new President on Thursday April 28 with incumbent Kwesi Nyantakyi going unopposed.
