INTERESTED members of the public who thronged to the Supreme Court yesterday to listen to proceedings of a case between Kotoko's CEO, Mr. Herbert Mensah, and the dismissed coach, Ian Porterfiled, were disappointed.
They have to wait for another one more week to see the outcome of the suit. At about 9.30 am word went round that all matters before the Supreme Court had been adjourned to November 26.
Mr. P. V. Obeng and Herbert Mensah as well as Lawyer Addison, counsel for Herbert Mensah, were conspicuously absent at the court. Chronicle gathered that Lawyer Addison had travelled outside the country.
Messrs Larry Otoo. counsel for Kotoko, and P.V. and Kwesi Afrifa for Coach Porterfield were, however, present.
The determination of the Porterfiled/Asante Kotoko suit has dragged on since September.
Mr. Justice J.K. Abrahams' High court in Kumasi last September granted an injunction against the defendants. Porterfiled has sued for wrongful dismissal, breach of contract and assault and battery.
Before the case could be determined , Herbert Mensah applied to the Supreme Court to quash the orders of the Kumasi Court and further prohibit the court from hearing an application for contempt against the defendants upon which the case was transferred to the Supreme Court.
