Koforidua, June 29, GNA- This year's Annual Milo Inter-Regional Soccer and Volleyball Championship entered the semi-finals stage on Thursday with Prempeh College (Prempeh), winners of zone "A" schools and colleges boys soccer championship, meeting Nalerigu Secondary School (NASS), winners of zone "C", in the first semi-final match at the Koforidua Sports Stadium.
Winneba Secondary School (WINNESEC), winners of zone "B", would play Potsin Ahmadiyya Secondary School (Potsin), who won zone "D". Prempeh, St. Prosper's College, Ho (St. Prospers) and Bolgatanga Secondary School (BOSS) are in zone "A", WINNESEC, Bechem Methodist Day Secondary School(METH. DAY) AND Wa Secondary School (WASEC) are in zone "B",
Takoradi Technical Institute (T'DI TECH), NASS, Obuasi Secondary Technical School(OBUASI) are in zone "C" while New Juaben Secondary Commercial School(NJUASCO), POTSIN and Tema Manhean Secondary Technical(MANHEAN) in zone "D".
In the last group matches played on Wednesday, METH. DAY beat WASEC 1-0, POTSIN beat MANHEAN 3-1, ST PROSPER'S beat BOSS 2-0 and NASS beat OBUASE one nil.
In the boys under-12 soccer championship, Greater Accra, winners of zone "A" would be playing Central Region, winners of zone "B" in the first semi-finals on Thursday at 13.30 at the playing fields of Koforidua Secondary Technical School (SECTECH).
At 15.00 on the same day at the same venue, Western Region who are the runner-up for zone "A" would play Eastern Region, winners of zone "C" in the second semi-final match of the championship. In some qualifying matches played on Wednesday, Upper East beat Central Region 3-2 on penalty kicks after a 2-2 draw at the end of full time.
Ashanti Region lost 0-1 to Brong Ahafo Region, Western Region beat Upper West Region 4-0 and Volta Region beat Greater Accra 1-0. In the girls under 15 soccer championship, Ashanti Region who won zone "A" is to play Greater Accra that won zone "B" in the first semi-final match at the Koforidua Sports Stadium, while Brong Ahafo Region who were runner-up for zone "A" play Western Region, winners of zone "C" in the second semi-final match.
In some zonal matches played on Wednesday, Volta Region lost 1-3 to Greater Accra Region, Upper West Region lost 0-3 to Western Region, Brong Ahafo Region beat Upper East Region 4-1 and Eastern Region lost 0-1 to Ashanti Region.
In the schools and colleges girls volleyball championship, Bolgatanga Technical Institute (BOTECH) winners of zone "A" would meet Kumasi Girls Secondary School(KUGISS) winners of zone "C" in the first semi-finals of the tournament.
In the second semi-final match, Oda Secondary School(ODASCO), winners of zone "B" would meet NJUASCO in the second semi-final match at the volleyball courts of SECTECH. The two matches would be played at 07.30.
