THE management of Asante Kotoko has said it will not accept any transfer figure less than $1million for World Cup star Shilla Illiasu .
According to reports, the Kotoko Secretariat in Kumasi has been experiencing a flood of offers for the talented defender from clubs in Germany, France, Holland, Italy, England and Turkey following his sterling performance for the Black Stars at the World Cup in Germany.
But although management is willing to let the gangling centre go back for greener pastures abroad, Kotoko will not settle for anything less than $US 1million.
A management source has confirmed that Asante Kotoko has already turned down a $700,000 offer from French Division One outfit Nice and similar ones from other French clubs like Olympique Lyon and Marseille as well as German Bundesliga side, TSV Hamburg because their offers were not enticing enough.
?The clubs concerned have quoted their figures and we have also given them our price, it is now up to the clubs interested to make the appropriate offer because he must go for the right price? the source stated.
Meanwhile, Kotoko may miss the trio of Shilla Illiasu, midfielder Yusif Chibsah and utility player Aziz Ansah in this year?s MTN/CAF Champion League group stage which starts next week with Kotoko?s first match away to JSK Algiers of Algeria.
But Coach E. K. Afranie insists that in the likely event of the three players missing out on Kotoko?s African campaign, he has good replacement for the three national stars.
Kotoko has three spaces left to fill in their African squad, but Afranie has not been in a rush to fill the spaces.
