Ghana World Cup midfielder Rabiu Mohammed has been linked with a surprise move to Portuguese Champions SL Benfica.
The 24-year-old who joined Russian side Kuban Krasnodar from French side Evian only last year has according to a Sunday report by Portuguese newspaper ‘Record’, admitted intending to switch to the Portuguese giants.
According to the newspaper, the two clubs have yet to reach agreement but it suggests that three million euros will be enough to close the deal for the Ghanaian defensive midfielder currently under contract until 2016.
Benfica are said to be eager to seal the deal before the new Portuguese season begins next weekend.
