Rashid Sumaila frustrated by premier league delay

Asante Kotoko defender Rashid Sumaila admits the continuous delayed start of the Ghana Premier League is beginning to cause him sleepless night.

Sumaila, a member of Ghana’s World Cup squad, is yet to play competitive football in more than six months.

The 22-year-old failed to land purported move abroad and was left out of Sundown squad for the season.

The centre-back returned to Ghana Premier League to remain active but he is yet to kick a ball competitively.

“The state of the league is really beginning to toll on all of us as players,” Sumaila told GHANASoccernet.com.

“Every passing day brings uncertainty and it’s really worrying.

“If you look at my situation, I came down because I wanted to be involved actively but unfortunately it hasn’t come out the way I predicted.

“I pray the leaders are able to find a solution for it.”

Sumaila has lost is position at the national side due to club inactivity and will be desperate to get some playing time to stake a claim.
