Mr. Solomon Yamoah, a Representative of the Referees Association of Ghana on the Eastern Regional Football Association (RAG) has expressed surprise and shock at the warning by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to football administrators not to have anything to do with him till further notice.
He said the decision of the GFA as published in the January 16, edition of the Ghanaian Times was said to be in connection with investigations into some allegations made against certain match officials handling the on-going Division One league matches.
Speaking to GNA Sports at Koforidua on Tuesday, Mr. Yamoah said he has not handled any of the on-going Division One league matches and therefore was surprised how he could be connected with the allegation.
Referee Yamoah who is also the Eastern Regional Referees Instructor said although he had been to the Koforidua Sports Stadium as a spectator, he had not in any way got involved in any of the matches.
He said as at the time of the interview, he had not received any letter from the GFA let alone been invited to appear before any committee of the Association.
Mr. Yamoah who has been a referee for 27 years and presently a member of the Eastern Regional Juvenile Football Association as well as Chairman of the New Juaben Juvenile Football Association described the GFA action as "unfair and an attempt to tarnish my image."
