SWAG names Liberty club of the week

Accra, Aug. 1, GNA - The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has named Liberty Professionals as the "Club of the Week" after their 3-1 win over Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra, last Sunday.

The victory over Kotoko was their second and the most emphatic win over the Porcupine Warriors since they joined the elite league in the mid 90s.

The Dansoman boys who but for series of near misses could have massacred Kotoko on the day, had all three goals through striker Kwame Obeng Darko.

Liberty became the fourth club to win the award since it was re-introduced four weeks ago.

The award was instituted by SWAG to motivate clubs to put up their performances in the premiership.
