he official launch of the much talked about game to honour ex-Ghana defender Samuel Osei Kuffour in a befitting testimonial took place at the conference hall of True Vine Hotel on Monday.
The colourful occasion attracted dignitaries such as Stephen Agyei, who is the owner and bank roller of Kumasi-based Fantomas FC, the club where Samuel Osei Kuffour’s talent was first discovered.
Founder and owner of Kumasi King Faisal, Alhaji Gruzah, Coach E.K Afranie, Karim Zito, Michael Osei and closest pal, Thomas Duah all graced the event.
The testimonial match will see the Black Stars pitch their strength against the friends of Kuffour on Friday, December 23 at the Baba Yara Stadium as Sammy Kuffour officially bids bye bye to active football.
Daniel Amokachi, Samuel Eto'o, Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Patrick Mboma, Jay-Jay Okocha, Lothar Mattheus, Oliver Khan, Samuel Eto, Rigobert Song, Mohammed Kallon, Pablo Thiam are among the legendary names to feature for friends of Sammy Kuffour against the Black stars.
According to the organizers, prior to the grand event, there will be a fitness walk through the principal streets of Kumasi on December 19 and a street Jam at the Bantama High street on December 22.
Proceeds from the game would be used to support the Otumfuo Charity Foundation, Children’s Home and Juvenile soccer.
