Cape Coast, Mar 22, GNA- Supporters of 'Ebusua' Dwarfs went home disappointed on Sunday when their idol club was held to a pulsating 1-1 drawn game by a second division side, Schalke 04 in a friendly match at the Cape Coast stadium.
The supporters who trooped to the stadium with high hopes were shocked with the calibre of players who featured for the club and when class one referee, Benjamin Aidoo signalled for the start of the game, they were constantly kept on their toes by the excellent display by Schalke 04.
Schalke 04 who have qualified for the Central Region middle league, outplayed Dwarfs in all departments of the game forcing the newly recruited players of Dwarfs to be on the defensive most of the time until the whistle went for recess.
Dwarfs on resumption, however, opened the scoring against the run of play with a spot kick expertly taken by half- back Richard Dawson in the 65th minute.
From then on, their opponents took absolute command again and following a series of incursions into their opponent's vital area, centre forward Daniel Nyarku scored the much - needed equaliser in the 75 minute.
In an interview later with the GNA Sports, Mr Robert Kuofie, Dwarfs' newly signed on coach said the match was part of a "justify your inclusion" programme to enable the club raise a formidable team. He appealed to the supporters to exercise restraint to enable the club's technical team to achieve the goal of the club.
