Ghana midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng is set to be cautioned by Schalke 04 over his poor performance exhibited so far this season, according to the Bundesliga club’s Sporting Director Horst Heldt.
Fans of the Royal Blues have begun complaining about the lackluster display put up by the 28-year-old, which has seen him make only 13 appearances for Schalke 04 without finding the back of the net in the Bundesliga this term.
“We will talk to him and if that does not work then that’s not okay and he must also tolerate criticism. I will not defend him and say he should be left to be free,” Heldt said ahead of Schalke’s home clash with Hoffenheim on Saturday.
Last season, the ex-Portsmouth player scored a total of 6 goals in 28 Bundesliga appearances for Schalke 04.
Kevin Prince Boateng, who joined Schalke 04 from AC Milan in August 2013, has been linked to Inter Milan and Arsenal but the Royal Blues Sporting Director denied the story, stating that the Bundesliga club has not received any offers from any club and are not willing to sell the player.
