General Manager of newly crowned champions of Ghana, Mr. Seth Panwum says his side, Wa All Stars will make Ghanaians proud in the CAF Champions League next year.

Mr. Panwum added that his team will present a duplicate of the famous Hearts of Oak squad that saw them conquer Africa in the year 2000.

The general manager made this known in an exclusive interview with the Chronicle Newspaper shortly after his side's historic victory over Aduana Stars that eventually won them the virgin trophy on Wednesday.

He said, All Stars will present a formidable squad that will definitely go beyond the group stage to uplift the flag of Ghana in CAF club championship.

He said, "It will be our maiden edition, but we will make a greater impact because we are not just going to add to the numbers".

Mr. Panwum said though his club will be participating in Africa Club Championship, they will still keep an eagle eye on the local premiership as well so that they can defend their new title.

He expressed his appreciation saying, "I am so grateful to the entire playing body and the technical team for their wonderful performance".

According to the general manager, next year will mark their tenth anniversary in the premiership "so winning the league this season is a good one for us".

He again expressed gratitude to former players and past club officials who started the team years ago for their numerous efforts and sacrifices that sustained the club up till now.

Was All Stars is currently the only club from the three northern regions that plays in the Ghana premier league.

The club was promoted to the premiership in 2007.

Since joining the league, All Stars have been a torn in the flesh of some of the well-known and traditional clubs in the league.

Former champions and oldest club in the league, Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak has always found All Stars a tough customer to handle.

This season, for example, Hearts of Oak tasted their first terrible home defeat at the hands All Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium.

All Stars defeated then by three goals to one during the first round of the competition.

They remained the only club to have inflicted the heaviest wounds on Hearts of Oak in Accra this season.

They won the new trophy introduced by the GFA for the 2015/2016 season on match day 29 following their 2-1 win over Aduana Stars.

They accrued 51 points from 15 wins and 6 draws.

They will have a tough opposition at the Esipon Stadium on match day 30 against Sekondi Hasaacas who are dangerously fighting against relegation.
