Hohoe, (V/R) Jan. 20, GNA - Soccer fans in Hohoe have given thump-ups to Milovan Rajavec, coach of the national team, the Black Stars for fine-tuning the squad that ensured its qualification to the quarter final stage of the ongoing Angola 2010 Africa Cup of Nations. The fans contended that the squad that pipped the Burkinabe national side had what it takes to upstage the Elephants of Cote d'ivoire in their opening match, which the Stars lost by 3-1 if they had put their acts together.
They noted that the hallmark and dexterity of a good coach was the one who can technically turn around its challenges depending on the availability of materials to produce results, as was what was seen against the Burkinabe's.
The soccer enthusiasts, however, urged coach Milo to spare the nation the ordeal from further experimentation of players. They expressed indignation about the performance of the team generally, insisting that the material available was enough to produce superlative results if their acts are well coordinated. They said the performance against the Stallions of Burkina Faso was better as compared to the opening match but they were skeptical about the Stars qualification to the semi final.
They asked for prayers from all Ghanaians since the next match against Angola, the host country was definitely going to be difficult. Mr Isaac Kwesi Mintah, a Sports Presenter of the Lorlornyo FM in Hohoe told GNA Sports that much should be expected from the Stars, adding they are capable of pulling surprises when everybody has totally written them off. He said he was happy with the introduction of the Under 20 players into the Black Stars since it would serve as a back-up to the national team in the World Cup in South Africa. The Angola 2010 is a right platform to test the capability and abilities of the young players, he noted. 20 Jan. 10
