FC Sochaux have threatened to drag Swiss club FC Sion to Fifa for not honouring their part of the bargain during the loan deal of Ghanaian winger Ishmael Yartey.
The relegated French Ligue 1 side stated on their website that they came into an agreement with Sion to automatically purchase Yartey should the Ghanaian help them to remain in the elite division.
Sion finished 8th and maintained their Super League status and are contractually obligated to keep Yartey based on the agreement, but are not ready to honour that bit of the deal.
Sochaux have served notice of their intention to report the issue to the football governing body to mediate.
Yartey, 24, played 22 league games for Sion this ended season scoring twice.
