The Brong Ahafo Regional Sports Administrator, Mr Kwabena Munufie, has expressed reservation about the delay in the payment of salaries for regional coaches and called for immediate steps to address the anomaly.
In an interview with Space FM, Mr Munufie pointed out that for about four months regional coaches, whose duty is to monitor sporting activities in schools and select potential sportsmen throughout the nation, have not been paid their salaries.
Mr Munufie said the Chairman of Ghana Football Association (GFA), Nyaho Tamakloe says the FA is sourcing for funds to pay the coaches.
The Sports Administrator noted that as an interim measure, District and Municipal Assemblies in the region are currently helping in financing activities of the coaches.
He noted that the 5 -Year Sports Developmental Project drawn by the ex-GFA Boss Ben Kofie, has been put on hold by Nyaho Tamakloe's FA, saying h it is beeing studied.
Mr Munufie pointed out that the region is to benefit from the construction of a modern sports stadium after feasibility study on the proposed site by a Japanese team.
