St Mirren whip Achiampin Stars

Korle Gonno Saint Mirren on Wednesday routed visiting Achiampim Stars of Ashaiman to 3-0 at the Indafa Park in their division two middle league match.

Striker Nathaniel Addo of Mirren fired a 35-metre shot in the seventh minute to open the floodgates for his side's challenge for the first sport of the league table. In the second half Mirren converted a 66th penalty to make their tally two through Gabriel Yartey who put the ball at the blind side of the goalkeeper. Randy Abbey buried the visitors in t he 69 minutes with a classic shot to bring the final scores to 3-0.

In a related development, the chairman of the New Town Stars F/C, Francis Nana Bentil, has called on both old and new players of the club to resume training at Avenor Park on Monday 28 April. He said the team is preparing for this year's division two league due to start soon.
