Stars-Libya Friendly Off

The GFA?s scheduled friendly game involving the Black Stars and Libya has hit a snag following the inability of the GFA to finalise arrangement with the Libyan football Association.

The GFA tabled three friendlies for the national team ahead of the Nations Cup, namely; Egypt, Libya and Tunisia.

The games against Tunisia and Egypt have been finalised but a source close to the Management Board of the FA has confirmed that the Libya friendly is off because the Libyan FA could not come to an agreement with the GFA over the friendly game.

The Black Stars are scheduled to go into camping on the 26th of December, 2005 ahead of the Nations Cup finals.

The team is scheduled to play Egypt on the 5th of January, 2005 and then Tunisia on the 15th of January, after which they will gear up for the Nations Cup which will commence on the 20th of January, 2005. The Stars will play Nigeria in their first game on the 23rd of January in Port Said and then face Senegal before Zimbababwe.
