Accra, Jan. 9, GNA – Ghana’s head coach, Goran Stevanovic would have the opportunity of training with a full squad for the first time in days as the team’s camp hits full house on Monday.
The France-based trio of John Boye, Andre and Jordan Ayew who were excused due to club commitments, has finally joined their colleagues in South Africa. The players who were in action for their respective clubs on Saturday, arrived in South Africa late Sunday and participated in Monday morning's training session.
Udinese duo, Kwadwo Asamoah who capped a 100-league appearance for the club on Sunday with a goal and Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu would also join later on Monday.
The arrival of the quintet would bring the number of players to 24 while the team awaits the arrival of Asamoah Gyan slated for Tuesday (January 10) to record a full house.
Injured Gyan is racing against time ahead of African Cup of Nations billed for Equatorial Guinea and Gabon beginning January 21.
Gyan’s arrival would come a few hours before Stevanovic names his 23-man squad as mandated by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Wednesday, January 11.
The Black Stars, silver medalist at the last tournament in Angola are pitted in Group D alongside Mali, Guinea and Botswana.
Ghana is ranked alongside the Ivorians, the Elephants as favorites for the biennial gathering that laces the continent’s best 16 teams together.
The Stars would begin their campaign against Botswana on Tuesday, January 24.
