Accra, Dec 15, GNA - High flying Black Stars of Ghana will on December 27, leave Accra for Tunisia to begin the final phase of their preparations towards the 2006 Nations Cup in Egypt scheduled to kick start next January.
The Stars are expected to train in Tunisia for at least 20 days, after which they will leave for Cairo, Egypt on January 17, three days ahead of the competition.
Among the list of players invited are goalkeepers Sammy Adjei, (Mohadon Sports Ashdod), Philemon McCarthy, (Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord) and George Owu (Ashgold) with Issa Gabriel Ahmed, (Asante Kotoko), John Mensah of Cremonese, Italy, Samuel Osei-Kuffour, (AS Roma), Francis Dickoh, (Denmark) John Paintsil, (Ashdod Tel Aviv), Emmanuel Addoquaye Pappoe, (Ashdod Tel-Aviv), Dan Edusei (Egaleo, Greece), Yakubu Abubakar, (Vitesse Arnheim, Holland) and Aziz Ansah (Asante Kotoko) making up the defensive set up.
The midfielders are made up of Dramani Haminu, (Red Star, Serbia Mon-tenegro), Laryea Kingston, (Terek Gronzy), skipper Stephen Appiah, (Fenerbache, Turkey), Hamza Mohammed, (RTU), Sulley Ali Muntari, (Udinese, Italy), Michael Essien, (Chelsea, England).
Asamoah Gyan, (Modena, Italy), Joe Tex Frimpong, (Enyimba, Nigeria), Prince Tagoe, (Accra Hearts of Oak), Godwin Attram, (Al Ittihad) and Mathew Amoah, (Vitesse Arnheim, Holland) are the attackers.
Meanwhile, a statement from the secretariat of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) signed Mr Kofi Nsiah copied to the GNA Sports said six players have been put on the standby.
They are Baba Armando, Baffour Gyan, Patrick Agyemang, Louis Agyemang, Alex Tachie Mensah and Illiasu Alhassan.
