Stephen Appiah denies Brunei move report

Ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has rejected reports that he will travel to Brunei to hold a trial with DPMM.

The former Juventus playmaker insists he has not been in touch with the club over a potential move to Asian side.

The club’s official website said they will be hosting trials for several prominent players including the iconic Ghanaian midfielder.

But Appiah, who is currently in Ghana training for a potential move abroad, says he has no idea about the reported move to Brunei.

“I have been in Ghana since the start of the year and I have been training while discussing my agents about my next move,” Appiah told Ghanasoccernet.com exclusively.

“I am not in Brunei. I am in Ghana and I have not officially discussed anything with DPMM so I am surprised that this news will come up when I am not on my way to Brunei,” he added.

Appiah has been without a club since leaving FK Vojvodina at the end of last season after guiding them to clinch a place in the Europa League playoffs.

The former Fenerbahce man refused to extend his contract with Serbian giants because of unpaid wages.
