Super Top 4 Scheduled For 21-28 June

The much publicised super Top 4 Soccer Tournament, involving Ghanaian and South African Clubs scheduled to take place in South Africa is tentatively set to take place between 21st and 28th June, 2004.

GHALCA, in a marathon meeting with PLB has proposed the date to the organisers of the competition, Professional Soccer League. A highly placed source from South Africa indicates that the organisers would accept the proposed date in order not to jeopardise the tight Ghanaian Soccer calendar.

The competition which would feature Ghanaian pair of King Faisal and Kotoko would face a stiff opposition from Orlando Pirates and Kaiser Chiefs.

At stake is mouth-watering prize money of $100, 000 for the winner and $50,000, $30,000, and $20,000 respectively for the second, third and the fourth placed teams. All participating teams would receive $10,000 as participation.

The Ghanaian teams would enjoy free flight and accommodation for the games.

It would be recalled that King Faisal made a lot of waves during the Coca Cola Top 4 after the Chairman, Alhaji Grunsah had declared that ?South Africa without King Faisal is no going?
