Swansea seek Ayew-Taylor swap - sources

Swansea and Aston Villa are in talks over a potential swap deal involving Jordan Ayew and Neil Taylor, sources close to the Midlands club have told ESPN FC.

Swansea are keen to bolster their attacking options before the close of the transfer window and are lining up a move for Ayew, the younger brother of former Swansea striker Andre Ayew (now at West Ham), who has scored 10 goals in 58 appearances for Villa since joining the club in 2015 from Lorient.

Ayew is currently away on international duty with Ghana at the African Nations Cup but Villa are ready to offer the striker as part of a deal for Swansea defender Taylor.

Steve Bruce is looking to bring in a new left-back and Taylor's future at Swansea looks uncertain following the recent arrival of Martin Olsson from Norwich, with the Sweden international becoming first-choice left-back under Paul Clement.

Taylor is now weighing up whether to leave Swansea for a move down to the Championship with Swansea open to letting him leave as they feel they have enough cover.
