The 19-year-old was born to Ghanaian parents in Accra but went to Sweden at the age of four.
The Swedish league winner Helsingborg has played for the Under-17 and Under-19 sides of the Scandinavian country.
He must seek clearance from Fifa if the Ghana FA pursues him to switch allegiance since he does not hold a Ghanaian passport.
“It’s always been my dream to play for Ghana and so if the country needs me why not? I will be very happy,” the defender told MTNFootball.com
“I’m very much Ghanaian although I have been here for 15 years. I speak twi and my parents are also from Ghana.
“I know about the Black Stars and as a footballer with Ghanaian roots, I’m interested to play for Ghana.”
If he makes his nationality switch, he could be available for the Black Stars if they qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
Early this year, Norway-born goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey was cleared by Fifa and was drafted into the Ghana team.
The 24-year-old has now emerged as the Black Stars number one glovesman.
