The presentation was made during the Game of Hope Charity Concert, held at the Accra International Conference Centre Saturday night.

Present, was a host of football stars notably Michael Ballack, Djibril Cisse, Emmanuel Eboue, Emmanuel Adebayor, Ricardo Carvalho, and Stephen Appiah among other high profile local and foreign personalities.

The money according to officials of the company will directly go to support the MEF’s activities.

Jocelene Buckman, Head of Marketing and Communication, TECNO Ghana said her outfit decided to support Essien’s efforts because they identified with his vision, and believed it would help cushion the resources he is putting into the foundation.

TECNO Ghana, she said, will continue to offer their support to the foundation the best possible way, adding that they are proud to have supported his charity match (which ended 4:2 in favour of the Africa XI team) and associated events this year.

Officials of the Michael Essien Foundation have since expressed their gratitude to TECNO Ghana.

The relationship between TECNO Ghana and the MEF stretches back to two years ago, when the mobile phone company sponsored Essien’s charity outreach programme at Awutu Breku, in the Central Region.
