Tony Baffoe Join the African Football Executive Summit Speaker Panel

The organizers of the African Football Executive Summit 2011 taking place in Accra, Ghana 26-27 May 2011 have announced that African football legend Anthony Baffoe and celebrated sports writer and Editor Osasu Obayiuwana have joined the speaker panel of the event.

Being the first of its kind the summit has a main theme of “21st Century Marketing, Branding and Leadership Strategies for the Development of Football on the African Continent" and it is expected to be a convergence of high profile football and business executives across the continent.

Tony Baffoe is a former Ghanaian international football player. He grew up near Bonn in Germany and made a name for himself in the 1980s in the Bundesliga, becoming a real crowd favorite for FC Köln and Fortuna Düsseldorf. Anthony Baffoe was the first recognized black player to appear in the German Bundesliga. Currently he occupies several functions for the African Football Confederation (CAF), as well as for FIFA. He is a member of FIFA and CAF Football Committees. He also serves as a Match Commissioner and General Coordinator for CAF and FIFA sanctioned tournaments.

Osasu Obayiuwana is a former BBC Sport and BBC World Service journalist (now the Associate Editor for "New African" magazine and Editor of "African Football", both produced by London-based IC Publications) with 22 years of experience covering the continental and global game. He has a reputation for providing first-rate reportage and incisive commentary on the crazy but wonderful game that enraptures people of all colors and creeds.

Other speakers at this ground breaking Summit include senior executives from MTN, Ghana and Nigeria Football associations, Super sport International, Ashanti Goldfields FC, Mamelodi Sundowns FC South Africa, FIFA and the Bundesliga Germany. The event takes place over two days - May 26-27 2011 - at the Alisa Hotel, Accra Ghana.
