Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda held talks with German top flight side Hertha BSC over a summer transfer move, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
The 29-year-old traveled to Berlin after playing in Ghana’s one-all friendly with Mali in France to have advanced talks with the Blue-Whites.
The identity of the German club had been concealed. But GHANAsoccernet.com can now confirm that Fatau Dauda is close to sealing a deal with Hertha BSC.
“Yes, I can confirm that the club in question is Hertha Berlin,” the AshantiGold goalkeeper’s manager Micky Boafo confirmed to GHANAsoccernet.com.
“Discussions were fruitful but an agreement is yet to be reached.” Dauda according GHANAsoccernet.com checks is insisting on the assurance of regular first team action inserted into the prospective contract.
The goalkeeper is eager to avoid the bench warming role he endured when he moved to Orlando Pirates on the back of his heroics at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Discussions are expected to continue even with the player in Ghana until an agreement is reached.
Dauda has a few months left to run on his existing one-year contract with Ghana Premier League club AshantiGold.
