Toure Apologises To Konadu;

In Line To Start For Kotoko Tomorrow

Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure has apologized to the club’s technical team for breaking training rules and as a result, has been included in Kotoko’s squad to face Ashanti Gold tomorrow night in the Glo Premier League.

Asante Kotoko’s Public and Supporter Relations Manager Listowell Yesu Bukarson told footyghana.com that it was a disciplinary issue which had to be dealt with. He also narrated to footyghana.com what actually happened.

‘Toure went for training yesterday without the approved shorts. When he was asked by head coach Maxwell Konadu, he said that he did not have the shorts type. Since the head coach had already given prior instructions for every player to bring a particular pair of shorts type to training, he asked Toure to step aside from the training pitch. After the training session was over, former Ashanti regional Chairman Emmanuel Owusu Ansah called myself, the Adminstrative Manager Ben Nti, Konadu and Toure in an attempt to resolve the matter.’

Bukarson also told footyghana.com that upon further deliberation, Toure apologized to the technical team.

‘Ahmed apologized, promising not to let the incident happen again and promising to get the set type of shorts. Konadu accepted the apology but made the point that team discipline will not be compromised. So Toure trained this morning and he will go into camp tonight ahead of the Ashanti Gold game tomorrow.’

Earlier radio reports sought to suggest that Toure had been left out of Kotoko’s squad for tomorrow’s game following the incident, but the club’s confirmation of his inclusion would suggest that the situation is fully resolved.
