Transfer Gossip: Asamoah Gyan could be heading to Stoke City

Asamoah Gyan has been linked with a loan move to Stoke City in a rumour that will whet the lips of dance-obsessed TV executives across the land.

Gyan is reportedly on £150,000 a week at United Arab Emirates side Al Ain but apparently wants a few months in the Premier League to prepare himself for a World Cup campaign with Ghana.

The 28-year-old was as renowned for his wiggle hips celebration as much as his goals during a 12-month spell with Sunderland from August 2010.

So if TalkSport are right to suggest Stoke are battling West Ham for his signature, it opens the door for a potential dance off with the Potters' samba chief in residence Peter Crouch.

Gyan has scored 16 goals this season, albeit in the football backwater of the Middle East.

TalkSport report: "Gyan would welcome a switch to East London if a deal can be done, but Stoke are also circling and are set to try to tempt him to the Britannia Stadium instead."

Meanwhile, Besiktas, say SportsDirect News, are ready to rival Galatasaray for in-form Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam.

One thing is for certain, gossip-hungry SportsDirect are not going to go cold turkey on their rumour production any time soon.
