Ghana striker Richmond Boakye proved his prowess by scoring in Elche’s narrow 2-1 home defeat to giants Real Madrid on Wednesday in the Spanish La Liga.
The 20-year-old climbed off the bench to cancel out Cristiano Ronaldo’s 51st minute goal for Madrid on the 90th minute mark.
The on-loan from Juventus player replaced Javier Márquez in the 62nd minute.
The youngster power raced through the Real Madrid defenders and applied a blistering header to a cross from the left.
But when all thought Elche were going to have a share of the spoils, Cristiano Ronaldo scored the match winner from the spot in the sixth minute of add-on time.
Carlos Sanchez fouled Pepe inside the box after a foul in the penalty area.
Boakye grabbed the headlines on his debut by coming off the bench to score the leveller in stoppage time against Almeria in the opening fixture.
