Birmingham, UK -- Richard Kingson, fell foul of immigration officials in Birmingham on Friday.
Ghana's international goalkeeper was supposed to be on a flight to Stuttgart with his teammates on their pre-season German tour, but he had to fly back to Accra to unravel red tape so he could receive a visa for Germany.
Bruce said: "Richard came into the country and then had to fly out again.
"You can't get the paperwork until you come here, then they don't let you in. So you get the documents, go back and get them stamped and return. Nonsense."
Kingson will miss tonight's opening friendly of Birmingham's German tour against Hollenbach/Hohenlohe-Auswahl (6.30pm),
